2005 Topel Meritage, Le Mariage

David Falchek, Wine Critic - Winestein
Wine Review Online, May 26, 2010
Another spectacular example of top-of-line Meritage comes from a small, Hopland, Calif., winery. Topel 2005 "Le Mariage" Meritage comes off with bold black fruit and chocolate flavors with a slight herbal character and a birch finish. This wine has great balance, shows each grape's character, and is complex without being brooding. Read Meritage Enjoyable Year Round…

Topel 2002 Pinot Noir, Serendipity Vineyard, Monterey - (4.5 stars out of 5)
“A rich, smoky Pinot Noir, with a velvety texture. Aromas and flavors of tangy cherry, chocolate, dill and vanilla. Prominent oak. Big flavors. Medium complexity.

Topel 2002 Serendipity Vineyard Monterey County Pinot Noir
“A very unique and interesting Pinot Noir. The nose is layered with cherries, spices (notably cardamom) and a little sauvage. The wine tastes terrific but is unlike any other California Pinot Noir I have ever had. It really stumped me when I tried to pin down the flavors but there was a load of stylish, complex spices here. This Pinot in nicely weighted and balanced, and a kick to drink.”
